Young Actors Guild: Drama Club

The Young Actors Guild drama club will explore acting skills and drama games while working on a short performance. Material will be drawn from fairy tales, fables, and Shakespeare plays. The club meets on Thursday afternoons in Snohomish close to Highway 9 and Highway 2. Cost covers rent and will be divided between families.  Families will be responsible for providing their own costumes based on the guidelines of the director. The fee per family for the short Fall Term is expected to be $25-30, with a short performance during normal club time, and $50-55 for the Winter/Spring, with a bigger, Friday evening performance. Parent help is encouraged, but students may be dropped off for rehearsals if a second adult (in addition to the director) is on campus.

Nature Explorers: Nature Club

Our nature club is suitable for families, though the activities are geared towards ages 8-12. Every other week we meet at a park to do a nature-related activity, write in nature journals, and play. The opposite weeks, we go on a hike. Occasionally, we do a field trip or service project. Most club activities during the school year are within a half-hour drive of Sunnycrest Elementary in Lake Stevens. We meet on Friday mornings from 9:30-12:30 or so. Participation is free, and families do not need to attend every week.

Homeschool Book Club

Our student-led book club usually meets at the Marysville Library on the 3rd Thursday of the month. It is geared to ages 8-12, with the kids picking the books, leading the discussions, and bringing activities related to the book with parent guidance.
